Auditions & Production Opportunities

EMU Theatre auditions and crew calls are open to any currently enrolled EMU student in good academic standing. Students do not have to be a theatre major or minor to participate.


AUDITIONS for EMU's Fall 2016 Season: Macbeth; Vital Signs; Christmas Carol'd; and Peter and Wendy (DTFY Fall Tour) - on Thursday, Sept. 8 from 7-10pm, and Friday, Sept. 9, from 1-4pm , in the EMU Theatre Annex (located below DC1/The Commons).
For initial auditions please prepare:

  • List of all possible rehearsal/performance conflicts.
  • 1 minute contemporary monologue.
  • 1 minute Shakespeare monologue.
  • 16-bar selection of music to show your vocal ability. Bring sheet music in a 3-ring binder.
    Accompanist will be provided.  NOTE: Not all shows/roles require singing.

    Cold reading materials will also be available at auditions.

Macbeth - Saturday, Sept. 10 from 10am-1pm.
Christmas Carol'd - Saturday, Sept. 10 from 1-4pm.
Peter and Wendy - Tuesday, Sept. 13 from 5-7pm.
Vital Signs
- Thursday, Sept. 17 from 5-7pm

For callbacks plan to stay the entire time and come prepared to move. Locations TBD.

Script selections will be available beginning August 29 in Room 103 Quirk for a 2-hour checkout period. For more information please visit the 103 Quirk Theatre office or call 734.487.1220.

Fall 2016 Crew Calls - If you are interested in volunteering on a crew for one of our productions, please fill out a Crew Interest Form and return it to the Theatre Administration Office in 103 Quirk. Crew interest forms will be available at auditions and in 103 Quirk.
