Parking Hang Tags

Hang Tag Information for the 2009-2010 School Year

Schedule to purchase your hang tags online or in person at the parking office:

Fall 2009: Online (Internet) orders begin: August 3, 2009 last date to be mailed 08/30/09*
Hang tag sales at counter begin: Monday, August 17, 2009
Late hours (8:30am-7:00pm): September 9,10, and 14-17, 2009

Winter 2010: Online (Internet) orders begin: November 16, 2009 last date to be mailed 12/20/09*
Hang tag sales at counter begin: Monday, December 14, 2009
Late hours (8:30am-7:00pm): January 5-7 and 11-13, 2010

Spring 2010: Online (Internet) orders begin: March 29, 2010 last date to be mailed 04/18/10*
Hang tag sales at counter begin: Monday, April 19, 2010
No late hours for spring

Summer 2010: Online (Internet) orders begin: May 31, 2010 last date to be mailed 06/20/10*
Hang tag sales at counter begin: Monday, June 21, 2010
No late hours for summer

*Hangtags ordered after the mail cutoff date posted on the online order form must be picked up after 4 p.m. the following business day at the Public Safety Department (police dispatch desk) located at 1200 Oakwood. Photo identification will be required to pick up the hangtag.

Commuter $ 75.00 (FALL TERM 2009 ONLY)
Commuter $ 75.00 (WINTER TERM 2010 ONLY)
Commuter $ 37.50 (SPRING TERM 2010 ONLY)
Commuter $ 37.50 (SUMMER TERM 2010 ONLY)

Residents $ 150.00 (for FALL 2009 and WINTER 2010 TERMS)
Residents $ 75.00 (for SPRING 2010 and SUMMER 2010 TERMS)

**In order to receive a full refund, you must return the hang tag to the Parking Department within the first 7 days of the first day of classes of the current semester. Refunds are prorated thereafter.

or, commuter hang tags may be purchased in person at the parking office. Tags ordered by the dates specified in the course book will be mailed to the address submitted on your online order form. Hang tags ordered online will be billed automatically to your student account.


All permits must be displayed in accordance with the regulations set forth, or the vehicle is subject to issuance of a citation.

Premium Reserved Parking Program

Available to Staff and Faculty Only

The University offers a Premium Reserved Parking Program in gated and secure lots in the following locations:

Smith Lot (on West Circle Drive across from Rackham)
Ford Reserved Lot (across from Alexander)

This program provides a personal reserved parking-space in one of the lots equipped with a card-reader that is dedicated and coded exclusively to read permits of persons who have purchased a premium reserved parking space.

The annual (September 1 to August 31) cost of a reserved space is $480.00 in addition to regular annual parking fees paid by EMU employees, and can be paid by cash, check, credit card or payroll deduction (limited to 24 pays). Premium parking may not be purchased with University funds.

Premium Parking is limited and may not be available. A waiting list will be maintained, but will be limited in size. To place your name on the waiting list for a premium parking spot, follow the link below and fill out the order form: The parking department will notify you when you become eligible for a space.
