Professional/Faculty
Advisor Training
ORIGIN and CONCEPT
The Advisor Training Program
was developed in 1981. Advisors receive training, which usually
occurs during the winter semester, and information to prepare
them for advising new students or currently enrolled students
assigned to the Academic Advising Center.
PARTICIPATION
To participate, one should contact his/her department head.
The department head should then contact the Director of the
Academic Advising Center to explore placement by phone or
by e-mail.
Placement is not automatic; all requests must be submitted
by formal application (forms are available at the Academic
Advising Center) and priority placements must be evaluated
and approved by the Provost's Office.
