General Education Review Sessions
Winter 2007

Students who have earned 24 credits or fewer are required to receive additional advising from the Academic Advising Center prior to registering for classes for the following semester. In order to receive this additional advising, students will need to attend a general education review (GER) session provided by the EMU Academic Advising Center. Once you have attended, you will not need to attend another session in the future.

Topics will include:

• GENERAL EDUCATION PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS
• DECIDING ON & DECLARING A MAJOR/MINOR
• REGISTRATION PROCEDURES
• PLACEMENT TESTS AND WAIVERS
• UNDERSTANDING THE CATALOG
• UNDERSTANDING THE CLASS SCHEDULE BULLETIN
• ACADEMIC RESOURCES ON CAMPUS
• PROBATION/DISMISSAL POLICIES

You will also receive a General Education Review - Advising Handbook (PDF) when you attend a session. The general education review sessions are available during the following days, dates, and times in order to accommodate varied schedules. We encourage students to attend one of these sessions early in the winter 2007 semester, as seating will be limited for each session.

Please make a note of the day & time you attended. Should you get any further notices that you need to attend a GER session, just call our number below. Indicate the day & time that you attended so that we can verify that you did sign in. We will then update the system.

Students who are in a FIG group or in a PASS block will have an advisor come to the UNIV class. You will not need to attend one of the following unless you have missed that class session in which the GER was given.
