Individualized Study
Program
Students, whose career goals cannot be met by existing programs
of study at Eastern Michigan University, may wish to explore
designing their own program. They must define their career goals
very specifically and develop a plan of study with the coordinator
to the Individualized Study Program (ISP) (currently, the Assistant
Director for Academic Actions). There are several conditions which
apply:
- The program must consist of 60-63 credit hours.
- It must have three distinct discipline areas.
- At least 15 credits of the program must be taken in 300-400
level course work through EMU.
- The program must receive the approval of representatives
for the discipline areas as well as the coordinator.
- The student must still meet all other university requirements
for graduation, including the General Education courses, grade
point average, and residency requirements.
