Block Scheduling
- The format of block scheduling connects groups of 20-25
students each into three courses. Having the same classmates
in three
courses is the most appealing feature of PASS. Students say
that they really get to know one another and feel comfortable
sharing class information. The block scheduling format encourages
students to study together and provides the opportunity for
professors to coordinate instructional efforts.
- All courses required by the PASS Program count for college
credit toward the total number of credits needed for
graduation.
- ENGL120: Basic English Composition - counts as an elective credit
- UNIV101L: Introduction to the University - counts towards one of the Learning Beyond the Classroom requirements
- One General Education course within the PASS block
- counts towards a general education requirement
- An additional course outside the PASS block of your choice (ask the advisor if the course will count towards graduation)
- PASS students often find that they have a close relationship
with PASS professors and come to feel that the professors are
interested in their success. PASS professors may offer more
testing opportunities than non-PASS professors in the composition
of the final grade.
