The EMU site is built around a constituent-group model to make things easy to find (constituent groups are those you see at the top of this page, such as Future Students, Current Students, Faculty & Staff, etc.). We invite you to take a look around, and familiarize yourself with our site. The site's search feature and sitemap should also assist you in finding sites and information.

The EMU site is designed to work best with current versions of commonly-used browsers. If you are using Explorer or Navigator, we strongly recommend Internet Explorer 5.2 (or 6 for Windows users) and Netscape 7.

Information for web site administrators at EMU:

Site admin: About links on the new EMU home page (www.emich.edu)

We will not be adding links to the home page as was the practice in the past. The main constituent group links on the left side of the home page are designed as primary landing (home) pages, and we can add links to those home pages as needed. The "popout" menus are intended as a quick-reference subset of frequently-visited links found on the landing pages, and are not intended to be comprehensive.

The content of the main EMU home page was planned carefully over time to ensure that we could accommodate the long-term development of our site's content. If you have an EMU web site and you would like your link in a different or additional location on one or more of our top-level landing pages, follow the instructions below under "changing the location of your site link."

Site admin: Change in information architecture

As we continue to develop the EMU site, we are changing the directory structure to make it more intuitive and sustainable. As a result, some of the places you used to find web pages are changing. For example, we will eventually be removing the "public" directory, so that all sites located in that directory will have a shorter URL (web address). We will set up automatic redirects in the original locations, so people will still be able to find the new sites.

Site admin: Changing the location of your site link

For specific questions regarding the location of your site link on www.emich.edu: If you are responsible for an EMU web site and do not think the link(s) TO your site is/are located in the right place(s) on the site, send a message to this email address with the DETAILS of 1) where your link used to be located, 2) what your link is called, 3) what its URL is, and 4) where you would like to see it on the EMU site.

Applying for web space or server access
