Financial aid for EMU Students:

Eastern Michigan University students who qualify for financial aid may apply it to this program. Appropriate arrangements must be made with the Office of Financial Aid, 403 Pierce Hall. Thanks to financial aid, study abroad is affordable for almost all students, provided that you meet all the eligibility requirements. You can take advantage of a wide array of state, Federal, EMU institutional and private sources of aid. The entire cost of a program, including transportation to and from the program site, tuition, fees and living expenses, is taken into account when financial need is determined. This means that your award will be adjusted according to the actual cost of the study abroad program. The types of aid available to you will vary. Visit the EMU   Financial Aid Website   for an overview.

The Emanuel Fenz Cultural History Tour Scholarship for EMU Students:

The Cultural History Tours were developed by EMU's Dr. Emanuel G. Fenz more than 27 years ago. A scholarship in memory of Dr. Fenz's achievement in education has been made available to provide financial assistance to qualified EMU students participating in a Cultural History Tour program. Online Fenz Scholarship forms require Acrobat. Students may also get forms from the Office of Academic Programs Abroad, 103 Boone Hall.

Financial aid for non-EMU Students:

Students from other colleges and universities should apply through their own Financial Aid Office for assistance. Students who do not normally qualify for financial aid at their home institutions or who need additional funds beyond their normal financial aid allocation may consider arranging a loan through the Higher Education Authority loan program of their home state. Programs of this kind enable students to obtain loans at a low interest rate through private banks or through the student's state of residence. Information regarding these programs can be obtained from the financial aid office of the student's home institution. Be sure to have your Financial Aid Officer coordinate any consortium agreements or financial aid you receive with EMU's Financial Aid Office.
