Credit The 6-week
program offers 6 hours of EMU credit. Eligibility Students must be 18 years of age and obtain

Passport In the event you
have not yet applied for your passport, please do so immediately. Applications can be obtained
at any County Court House, Passport Agency or designated post office. For complete passport
information, including printable application forms, see the State Department Passport Website
at: http://travel.state.gov/passport_services.html.
If you currently have a passport, please check and make sure that it is valid for six months
after the end of the program. Transportation
Participants
must make their own air travel arrangements and notify program director of same.
Application:
In order to be considered for admission, students must
submit: - a completed application form
- an official, current transcript from the applicant's home institution (Non-EMU
students only)
- Michigan Guest Application (non-EMU students only)
- essay on the topic described below
- two recommendation forms
completed by faculty members at applicant's home institution.
- a prepayment of $200,
which is applied to the total cost of the tour (fully refunded if the applicant is denied
admission; $100 non-refundable if applicant withdraws after acceptance).
The review committee will meet to evaluate all complete applications received by
the deadline date: Application Deadline is March 1
Early application is suggested. Complete applications
received after the final deadline will be reviewed on a space-available basis. No application
will be evaluated until all SIX parts are received (application form, Michigan Guest
Application, (non-EMU students only) $200 pre-payment, transcript, essay, and two recommendation

Admissions Policy The
Admissions Committee evaluates completed applications according to the following critieria: - the applicant's academic record
- the applicant's reasons for
selecting this particular program
- the applicant's ability to meet the special demands
of overseas travel and study
Essay
In order to help the
Admissions Committee to better evaluate your application, write a brief autobiographical
statement (600-800 words) that addresses the following: - Describe
any experiences you have had that might prepare you for the special demands of study
abroad.
- Describe the interpersonal skills you bring to the program.
- Describe
your academic, career and personal goals, and how participating in this program will help you to
achieve these goals.

* Official transcripts and faculty recommendation forms may be
mailed directly to our offices by your home institution. The two recommendation forms are to be given to faculty members at your college or
university who have served as your instructors or advisers and are able to evaluate your
suitability for the study abroad program. Application Forms (You will need one copy of the application form
for the program to which you wish to apply and two copies of the faculty recommendation form. If
you are a non-EMU student, you will need the Michigan Guest Application. If you do not have
