Graphic
Design at the London College of Communication
May 19-June 4, 2010
About
this program:
Eastern
Michigan University's Art Department in cooperation with the
Office of Academic Programs Abroad, is pleased to offer a three-week
study program at London College of Communication in London,
England.
The intent of the program is to provide professional designers
and students from EMU and other institutions an opportunity
to learn more about British and European graphic design and
typographic practices.
This is delivered through interaction with current London
College of Communication faculty and students
and British design professionals, studio and museum visits,
studio projects, and a lecture programme in order to contextualise
the contemporary cultural and social landscape.
Projects will be based around students gaining an understanding
of the historical, technological and contemporary context of
graphic design in Britain. Issues of contemporary design practice
will be
addressed through master class projects with practitioners noted
in their specialist fields, such as letterpress, and visits
to venues related to the themed projects.
Dates: May 19-June 4, 2010
Program
fee 2010: $2559*
for single room supplement add $225.

Further weakening of the U.S. Dollar against world currencies may require a surcharge to cover unexpected costs resulting from unfavorable exchange rates. We will do everything possible to limit program costs as we monitor economic conditions beyond our control.
