School of Health Sciences
The School of Health Sciences in Jönköping is one of
the largest schools of its kind in Sweden. It offers both undergraduate
and graduate programs in three areas of study: Nursing, Occupational
Therapy, and Social Work. All of these programs offer some courses
in English, and no knowledge of Swedish is required.

Jönköping
The city of Jönköping is located just over 200 miles
southwest of Stockholm, at the southern end of beautiful Lake
Vättern. It is one of the oldest business centers of Sweden,
with its town charter dating from 1284. The city was at one time
best known for its production of matches, and the original factory
from the 1840s remains as a historical monument, though it ceased
operations in the 1930s. The area surrounding it is still known
as the Tändsticksområdet, or "matchstick zone."
Academics
Jönköping University operates on a modular calendar,
in which each semester is broken into four mini-terms of about
one month each. Classes may last anywhere from 1-4 months. Your
academic schedule will be worked out with your EMU departmental
advisor.
Accommodation
All international students who apply by the deadline are guaranteed
accommodation in one of four sections of the city, all within
25 minutes by public transportation from the university. The university
does not own housing facilities itself but rents apartments and
rooms from the city and private housing companies.
