Summer
European Cultural History Tour
May 25 - August 2, 2008

Program
Description:
The
Summer European Cultural History Tours (SUMECHT) offer students a completely unique approach to university
study abroad. The programs combine a thorough tour of major
cultural and historical sites throughout Europe and the Mediterranean
Basin with intense academic study of the
culture and history being experienced. These programs provide
an ideal learning environment because you integrate reading
and writing with direct involvement to achieve a richer understanding
of the subject than book learning alone could possibly provide. The Summer European Cultural History Tour is a 70-day program combining the Western European Cultural History Tour (WECHT) with the Mediterranean Cultural History Tour (MEDECHT). The full summer program travels to eight European countries, and begins in London, England and ends in Athens, Greece.
London to Athens
12 credit hours

Program Fee: $7,600* (This cost for currently enrolled EMU students reflects a $1,000 reduction in program fee.) *does not include tuition and airfare
*Our program fees are based on currency exchange rates in effect at the time of budget planning. in key cultural centers. We allow some time in major cultural
capitals such as London, Edinburgh, Paris, Berlin, Prague, Florence,
Rome and Athens to enable students to further explore for themselves
the cultural environment of these great cities. Theater, opera,
concert performances and guided museum tours are included in the
tour price.
You
get college credit
The
SUMMER EUROPEAN CULTURAL HISTORY TOUR carries 12 semester hours
of Eastern Michigan University credit. Non-EMU students may transfer
credit to their home institution. Non-EMU students should consult
with their study abroad adviser or academic adviser in order to
comply with their institution's policies and procedures regarding
transfer credit.
Our
staff is top quality
All
faculty members on the European Cultural History Tours hold Ph.D.s
or MFAs from leading universities. The faculty consists of widely
traveled university professors of history and art.
