Financial Aid:

Eastern Michigan University students who qualify for financial aid may apply it to this program. Appropriate arrangements must be made with the Office of Financial Aid, 403 Pierce Hall. Thanks to financial aid, study abroad is affordable for almost all students, provided that you meet all the eligibility requirements. You can take advantage of a wide array of state, Federal, EMU institutional and private sources of aid. The entire cost of a program, including transportation to and from the program site, tuition, fees and living expenses, is taken into account when financial need is determined. This means that your award will be adjusted according to the actual cost of the study abroad program. The types of aid available to you will vary. Visit the EMU   Financial Aid Website   for an overview.

Estimated Costs Above the Program Fee

Frequently students ask us how much money they will need above the Program Fee on the tour. Based on estimates made by students on previous tours, the extra expenditures should amount to:

Vietnam-Cambodia-Thailand Cultural History Tour
Meals (based on $12 per day average for two meals-some students may spend more or less) 240
Street Cars/Subways/Taxis (based on average for the entire tour) 60
Laundry (based on approximately $7 per load, min. one load every week) 25
Textbooks (based on average for two classes) 100
Miscellaneous (bottled water, snacks, toiletries, internet, bank exchange fees, etc.) 100
Totals $ 525

This chart is only a guideline intended to help you estimate costs. Your individual spending habits will affect your total costs, and may differ considerably from those listed.
