Searches

Faculty searches for 41 positions will continue this year.

On October 14 EMU welcomed the new Ombuds, Dr. Chiara Hensley. Dr. Hensley most recently served at Pasadena City College in the Counseling and Student Learning Services area, as well as holding a tenured position as Assistant Professor of Counseling. She also served as Counseling Department Coordinator, and Campus Diversity Coordinator. Dr. Hensley received her doctorate in Education with a concentration in Higher Education Leadership from Nova Southeastern University, her Master's in Counseling from Eastern Michigan University, and her Bachelor's in Education from the University of Michigan.

Randall Ward has been named the new Director of the Disability Resource Center . His start date is January 6, 2014.  Randall is currently the Acting Director of the Disability Resource Center at Northern Illinois University. Prior to working in his current position, Mr. Ward served as the Director of the Student Resource Center-Disability Services at Lake Michigan College and as a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor. He is a member of the Association on Higher Education and Disability (AHEAD) and was recently appointed to AHEAD's National Standing Committee on Professional Development. Mr. Ward received his undergraduate degree from MSU and a Master of Arts in Guidance Counseling: Student Personnel from Northern Michigan University.

In addition, the Provost's Office has launched the search process for the Associate Vice President for Student affairs and Dean of Students. Members of the Search Committee are Jaclynn Tracy (Chair), Reginald Barnes, Elizabeth Broughton, Marney Buss, Perry Francis, Lucas Langdon, Lisa Lauterbach, Rhonda Longworth, and Antonino Monea. The search for a Dean of the College of Technology will begin in the winter 2014 semester.
