EMU's Equality Research Center announces its Call for Papers for the first Equality Research Leadership Conference to be held May 1-2, 2015 in Ypsilanti, MI. Faculty and staff from all disciplines are encouraged to submit proposals.

Conference Focus: Equality Research Leadership is a conference intended to highlight new research focusing on LGBTQ people, communities, and issues. The conference will feature academic papers, white papers, research reports, and workshops—bringing the work of scholars and researchers to the public sphere. Target audiences include academics, advocates, activists, and policy makers.

Conference Topics: The Equality Research Leadership conference is a multidisciplinary conference and accepts submissions from all fields and methods of inquiry. While all LGBT equality topics are welcome, the Equality Research Center is particularly interested in submissions presenting new research on the following:
· K-12 educational environments and practices
· Higher education environments and practices
· Workplace discrimination effects and policy
· Trans*phobia, discrimination, and policy
· Aging LGBT populations needs and issues
· HIV/AIDS trends: treatment, communication, prevention
· Coming Out
· LGBT family issues and policy
· Political action and activism
· Community building initiatives
