Intakes at ACC
The intake process provides the family and ACC with the opportunity to get to know each other better.
1) Make a 1/2 hour phone or in-person initial appointment with an intake assistant at no charge to go over basic information, hear about our options and see if you’d like to proceed with a full intake at ACC.
2) Focused Intakes are for clients that already have already obtained a diagnosis on the Autism Spectrum (Aspergers, HFA, PDD-NOS, Autistic Disorder) or Global Developmental Delay (GDD) with suspected Autism for those under 5 years of age. Focused intakes use the CARS (Childhood Autism Rating Scale) system to re-confirm diagnosis. Appointments are available during business and extended hours as necessary. Plan for about 2 hours.

The ADOS and ADI-R, as well as other standard cognitive, sensory, language and social- emotional profile information will be collected by our interdisciplinary team, including medical coordination from a licensed nurse practioner, and a full report will be provided to the client. Two appointments are required for comprehensive intake: An evaluation day and a reporting/discussion day. Each appointment can take 2-3 hours.
