Choose your application by selecting the statement that best describes you.

 

International Students

If you are an international student, (non-US citizen, including Permanent Residents, and individuals who have credentials from institutions outside the United States)
Apply as an international student.

Dual Enrolled High School Students

If you are a high school student and want to take college classes while still in high school, choose:

Dual Enrolled for H.S. Students

 

Undergraduate Freshman Options

If you are high school senior or high school graduate or have completed the GED and have not taken any college classes since completing high school and want to apply for admission choose the category that matches your age:

Freshman - Below 21 Years

Freshman - 21-23 Years

Freshman - 24+ Years

 

Undergraduate Transfer Option

If you have been or are currently enrolled at another school as an undergraduate student and have not completed a bachelors degree and have never attended EMU as an undegraduate student:

Apply as a Transfer Student

 

Undergraduate and Graduate Re-enrollment Options

You started a degree at EMU and did not complete it. You wish to return to complete that degree.

If you have already attended EMU as an undergraduate student and did NOT complete a bachelor's degree and want to continue to take classes at EMU you must re-enroll through the Records Office at EMU. You need to re-enroll rather than re-apply. Please read the information about re-enrolling at EMU before completing an application.

You have already attended EMU as a graduate student and did NOT complete your degree program and you want to re-enroll at EMU to complete the same program. You need to re-enroll using the
graduate enrollment change form.

If you started a graduate program and you want to change programs you must reapply.

Only one application fee is required per degree awarded. However, the online application requires a nonrefundable credit card payment of $25 to submit the application. To avoid paying the application fee when when you are re-enrolling and changing programs, you may print and mail or fax a paper application without a fee.

Graduate School and Other Post Bachelor Options

If you have completed your undergraduate bachelor's degree and would like to:

apply to a graduate degree or certificate program.
Apply as a graduate degree student.

apply to complete another bachelor's degree.
Apply as a second bachelor's student.

apply for post bachelor undergraduate certificate (Music Therapy Certificate).
Apply as an undergraduate student.

take an undergraduate or graduate level class or classes without being admitted to a degree program. Your undergraduate bachelor's degree GPA is a minimum of 2.5.
Apply as a graduate non-degree student.

Take an undergraduate class or classes that will not lead to another degree and your undergraduate bachelor's GPA was below a 2.5.
Apply as an undergraduate non-degree student.

 

Post Bachelor Teacher Certification Options



lf you have completed a bachelor's degree and NO teaching certificate, and would like to earn a first teaching certificate (provisional), and you will have successfully completed the Michigan Basic Skills Test prior to the semester for which you are applying, you should:
apply as a post-bachelor's teacher preparation student.

lf you have completed a bachelor's degree and have NO teaching certificate and would like to earn a first teaching certificate (provisional), but are not eligible to apply as a post bachelor's teacher preparation student because you have not taken the Michigan Basic Skills Test,you should:
apply as a an undergraduate non-degree student.

lf you have completed a bachelor's degree and NO teaching certificate and would like to earn a first teaching certificate (provisional), but are not eligible to apply as a post bachelor's teacher preparation student, because your undergraduate GPA is under a 2.5, you should:
apply as a second bachelors degree student.

If you have a provisional certificate and wish to take courses leading to your professional certificate or an endorsement you should:
apply as a graduate certificate student. and choose the program:

Elementary Professional Cert
Secondary Professional Cert
Teaching Endorsement

If you have a teaching certificate and wish to take classes to renew your teaching certificate, you should:

Elementary Provisional Teaching Cert Renewal
Secondary Provisional Teaching Cert Renewal

 



 

Guest Student Options

If you are currently enrolled in a degree program at another school, and would like to take a class at EMU as a guest student and transfer the credit back to your home institution, choose the application that matches your level at your home institution:
