You are considered an international applicant
if any of your academic credentials come from a school outside of the
United States, or if you are not a U.S. citizen.
The undergraduate and graduate applications for domestic and international
students are the same. However, international applicants have some additional
forms required. Please see the Checklist
for International Applicants.

EMU and did NOT complete the degree program you were working on,

Freshman-high shool seniors or students who have graduated high school
or passed the GED but have not completed more than 12 credits from another
college or university.

Prospective new freshmen students should submit:
1. a completed undergraduate application,
2. application fee ($30 if mailed, $20 for online or walk-in applications.)
3. official transcripts from all prior high schools Request Transcript Form
4. Official ACT or SAT test scores on your official transcript or sent in a sealed envelope from the testing agency.
NOTE: no ACT or SAT test scores are required for individuals
over the age of 21
NOTE: individuals with 12 or more transferable credits
apply as transfer students and usually do not need to send high school
transcripts.

Transfer students-students who have attended another

Students seeking teacher certification who have completed an undergraduate degree
Professional Teacher Certification for students who already hold a Provisional Teaching Certificate. If you have a rovisional certificate and are taking classes to be eligible for your professional certificate you would apply as a graduate student for professional certification.

Post Baccalaureate Teacher Certification. Students who wish to become
certified teachers and who completed an undergraduate degree with a GPA
of 2.5 or above can apply as post bachelor teacher certification. This is an undergraduate program. More information about this program including additional application requirements

5. Application for the Post Baccalaureate Teacher Certification Program
Students with a grade point average below a 2.5 who want to obtain teacher certification, must complete a second
bachelor's prior to entering the teacher certification program. Prospective
teacher certification students should submit a completed undergraduate
application, application fee ($30 for mailed applications, $20 for online applications and applications submitted to the admissions office in person), personal statement and official transcripts from
all undergraduate or graduate programs previously attended.
Second Bachelor’s-students who completed a bachelor's
degree but who need to complete a new major and/or minor. This often includes
individuals who want to be certified as teachers but either lack the hours
in a teachable major or minor or who lack the GPA to get into the college
of ED to take certification courses. Prospective second bachelor's students
should submit a completed undergraduate application, application fee ($30 for mailed applications, $20 for online applications and applications submitted to the admissions office in person), and official
transcripts from all prior undergraduate institutions including a transcript

If you attended EMU, you do not need to request your EMU transcript.
Undergraduate guest studentsare currently enrolled and in good standing at another institution and wish to take a class or classes at EMU for one semester apply as guests. Guest status is for one semester only (except spring and summer which are treated as one semester) and students must reapply if interested in attending as a guest in another semester. Prospective guest students should complete Part I of the guest application and submit it to the Registrar's or Records Office at the home institution (school at which they are currently enrolled). Part II is completed by a school official, put in a sealed envelope and mailed to EMU or given to the student. The guest application must be received in a sealed envelope from the students home institution. There is a $30 guest application fee. If you pick up the guest application from your home institution and deliver it in person to the EMU Admissions front desk in Pierce Hall, the application fee is $20 and you may also be able to meet with and admissions counselor and get an admission decision at that time.
Prospective guest students should submit:
1. a completed Guest application* (sent by your home institution) and $30 fee (please enclose your name and address and indicate you are applying as a guest and the semester for which you are applying)
2. application fee ($30 if mailed, $20 for walk-in applications.)
3. official transcripts from your home institution (where you are currently enrolled). (Official transcripts are not necessary if your institution completes and sends to EMU the Undergraduate Guest Student Application.)
*Part I (Name information) of the guest application is completed by the student applying for guest admission and returned to the records office of their home institution. A school official completes Part II of the application places it in a a sealed envelope and sends it to EMU or gives it to the student. Allow enough time for this process. A guest application completed by the student and an official transcript in a sealed envelope from the home institution can also be used for admission.Transcript Request Form

Online
Degree seeking students have completed
a bachelor's degree and wish to complete a Master's degree in a specific program.
Prospective graduate students should submit a completed graduate application,
application fee ($35 for mailed applications, $25 for online applications and applications submitted to the admissions office in person), personal statement and official transcripts from all undergraduate
or graduate programs previously attended. Prospective graduate students
should check with the department of the program to which they are applying
to determine specific department requirements which may include any or all
of the following: GRE, GMAT or MTTC test scores, letters of recommendation
and/or copies of current teaching certificates or endorsements.
Prospective degree seeking graduate students should submit:
1. a completed graduate application
2. completed personal statement(on the undergraduate application)
2. application fee ($35 if mailed, $25 for online or walk-in applications.)
3. official transcripts from all prior colleges or university (minimum overall GPA is 2.5) If you attended EMU, you do not need to request your EMU transcript.
4. Some programs require additional admission materials. Contact the faculty contact in your department of your program to see what other documents or test scores are required to complete your admission application.
*Note: If you are using a paper application, you need to include the program code on your application. Program Codes can be found on our web site.
Non-Degree Graduate Applicants: Students who are not working toward a degree
and wish to take undergraduate or graduate classes apply as non-degree.
Sometimes students apply as non-degree in order to take classes
while they apply for entrance into a degree program for a future semester.
Transcript Request Form
MIGS-Grad students at some Michigan Institutions
may get approval to take specific courses at EMU that are approved by
their institution for degree credit toward their degree. Prospective MIGS
students apply through the registrar's office of their home institution
and submit a $25.00 application fee to EMU. Transcript Request Form
