Re-enrolling at Eastern Michigan University

 

If you have attended EMU but stopped out without completing your degree program you may be able to re-enroll without reapplying to EMU. Undergraduate students who are re-enrolling only need to complete the re-enrollment application and return it to the Office of Records and Registration in Pierce Hall at Eastern Michigan University. The Records office will re-activate your file, allowing you to register for classes. Re-enrollment is an option for the following:

    1. Undergraduate students who attended EMU as a degree seeking student and completed at least some credits and did not complete a degree at EMU or any other school no matter how long you have been out of school may re-enroll. If you attended any other school you will need to send transcripts to EMU from that school.

    (Note: If you have been enrolled anytime in the last two years you do not need to re-enroll or re-apply.If you were dismissed, you will not be able to register until you meet with Mr. Fulford in Academic Advising.     Note: If you attended as a guest, dual enrolled or non-matriculated student, you were NOT admitted to a degree program and you must apply as an undergraduate student to EMU.

    2. Graduate students who have not enrolled in more than two years, you may re-enroll to complete your original degree. You should use the Graduate Enrollment Change Form to re-enroll. If it has been more than five years, you should contact the graduate school should reapply to the original degree program. However, (keep in mind that your credits, by grad school policy have a six-year time frame to complete your degree.
    Note: The graduate school has policies regarding the time students can take to complete a graduate degree program:

        • The doctorate program must be completed within 7 years.
        • The specialists degree must be completed within 6 years if entering with a masters when you begin or 7 years if entering with a bachelor's.
        • You have 3 years to complete a certificate program.
