International Admissions

Step 1Academic Admissions Requirements

  • Freshman: For International freshman applicants, official (school stamped and received in sealed envelope) transcripts from all high schools and/or secondary schools attended
  • Transfer and Graduate: For International transfer or graduate school applicants, international college/university transcripts must be evaluated by Educational Perspectives
  • Transfer and Graduate: Please visit the Graduate School Website to research other application requirements such as GRE, GMAT, Resume, Reference letters, or department applications

  • All International Students whose native language is not English: Official English Language skills test - TOEFL, IELTS, MELAB, Pearson's Test of English  (PTE)

    - EMU offers conditional admission for students with English proficiency scores below the full admission standard.

  • International College/University Transcripts must be evaluated and translated by Educational Perspectives. Do not send your international college transcripts to EMU, send them only to Educational Perspectives

    EMU encourages international students to have their international (non-US) College or University transcripts translated and evaluated by Educational Perspectives before applying for admission. (Canadian students included)

Step 1Immigration Requirements

  • Financial Statement of Responsibility for students needing an F1 or J1 visa
  • If the name on the bank statement is NOT the applicant please have sponsor fill out Part 2 of the above form
  • If currently residing inside the U.S., a copy of your permanent resident card or VISA
  • If currently attending another college or university in the U.S. on an F-1 or J-1 VISA, a completed International Student Transfer-In Form is required.
