International Information Sessions
Do you want to learn more about how to apply as an International Student at Eastern Michigan University? Sign up for an Information Session on:
- Tuesday, October 6th 3:30 – 5:00 pm - Pierce Hall room 401
- Wednesday, November 11th 3:30 – 5:00 pm - Pierce Hall room 401
- Wednesday, December 9th 3:30 – 5:00 pm - Pierce Hall room 401
At the information session, EMU staff from Admissions, the Office of International Students and English as a Second Language will provide information regarding: EMU academic programs; admission requirements; application procedures, deadlines and timelines; TOEFL/MELAB/IELTS policies; international transcript policies; Visa issues and general issues regarding studying at a U.S. institution. To reserve your spot, please e-mail international.admissions@emich.edu or call the International Admissions Office at (734) 487-0205.
For all sessions, we recommend that you park in the Pease Lot on College Place and bring your parking stub for us to validate so that you do not have to pay for parking. Use our driving directions page to find the best way to campus.
REASONS INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS ATTEND EMU
- F-1 students may be eligible for our International Scholarship (Valued between $3,100 and $13,500 per year; Fall applicants only) or other scholarships for graduate and undergraduate F-1 students
- Resident tuition for some E1-4, H1-4, J1-2, L1-2 and some other valid visa holders
- Active on-campus network of International Student Organizations
- Office of International Students functions as the help center for enrolled international students and scholars
- Up to 20 credits of EMU ESL classes count towards graduation (for undergraduate level students only)
- TOEFL/MELAB/IELTS waivers to those who qualify
- Over 100 countries represented by EMU student body
