Transfer Admissions

At Eastern Michigan University, we make transferring simple. We offer a generous transfer credit policy, low tuition, and flexible course options, including evening, online, and hybrid courses. With over 200 undergraduate  majors and programs, we have a course of study to fit almost every student’s needs. EMU is nationally recognized for excellence in serving transfer students and was one of 65 colleges and universities named to the  2017 Phi Theta Kappa Transfer Honor Roll.


Admission Requirements

All students wishing to transfer to EMU must have:

  • A cumulative college grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 or above.
  • 12 or more transferrable credits earned.
  • Applicants with fewer than 12 transferable credits must also submit an official high school transcript or GED score report and ACT or SAT scores.

Admission Appointments

The Transfer Admissions Office offers one-on-one advising appointments and also assists prospective students on a walk-in basis. During your appointment, you can learn more about our admissions process, programs, and how your credit will transfer to EMU.
