International Undergraduate Students
Financial Assistance for International Students
Several options are available to students from around the country and world to help finance your undergraduate studies at Eastern Michigan University:
Assistance from the EMU Office of Admissions upon admission
-
The National Scholars Program (NSP) Scholarship - Renewable award which pays the difference between in-state and out-of-state tuition (approximately $13,500 per year). Open to incoming freshman and transfer students with a 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale. To be eligible, you must be admitted as a non resident for tuition purposes. Transfer students must have completed 30 transferable credits prior to admission for eligibility
Students are automatically considered for the NSP at the time of admission based on the GPA used to make their admission decision. Due to federal and EMU regulations, students admitted as non-degree, continuing education, condition four, H-1 and H-4 visa holders, and some other visa holders are not eligible for the NSP.
Assistance through Federal and Private Loans
International students with certain specific citizenship credentials may qualify for federal or private student loans. Information is available from the EMU Office of Financial Aid.
If you have further questions about your eligibility for financial assistance, e-mail our international admissions staff or call 734.487.0205.
