Transfer Admission Requirements

All students wishing to transfer to EMU must have:

  • A cumulative college grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 or above.
  • 12 or more transferable credits earned.
      • Applicants with fewer than 12 transferable credits may still apply, but must also submit an official high school transcript or GED score report and ACT or SAT scores.

In order to receive an admission decision, applicants must submit official transcripts from all colleges or universities they have previously attended.

EMU accepts official transcripts by mail or electronically. Transcripts can be mailed to:

Undergraduate Admissions
PO Box 921
Ypsilanti, MI 48197

Mailed transcripts must be unopened in order to be considered official. Electronic transcripts must be sent by the issuing institution. We cannot accept transcripts emailed by an applicant.

EMU does not have an application deadline and admits applicants on a rolling basis. Prospective students are welcome to apply at any time before the semester they plan to enroll for begins. However, we recommend you apply at least three months before you plan to enroll.

You can complete EMU's online application here.
