Counselor Appointments

Counselor appointments are designed for freshman and transfer students to meet with a counselor, find out more about the admission process and, if possible, receive an admission decision on the spot! Our experienced admissions staff will meet one-on-one with you to:

  • Review the EMU academic programs and majors you are considering. We'll show you which courses are required for a particular degree and how many credit hours are required.
  • Discuss how your previous coursework will be evaluated at EMU
  • Review the re-application or re-enrollment process (if you've previously applied to or attended EMU)

To receive an admission decision during your appointment, bring:

  • Official transcripts in sealed envelopes. If you're a freshman applicant, bring transcripts showing all of your high school grades to date. If you're a transfer student, bring transcripts from every college or university you have attended.
  • Official ACT or SAT scores (only if you are a freshman applicant under 21 years old)
  • A $20 payment to cover the discounted application fee. EMU accepts cash, check, credit card or money order.

Call 800.GO.TO.EMU (800.468.6368) today to schedule your appointment. Appointment times are available Monday-Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m., and are held at 401 Pierce Hall, Ypsilanti MI 48197. If you are interested in taking a walking tour of campus while you are here, be sure to mention that when you schedule your appointment. Tours leave from the Admissions Welcome Center in the EMU Student Center at 10a.m. and 2p.m. each weekday.

Appointments are also available on select Saturdays between 9:15a.m. and 12:00p.m. Saturday appointments are held at the Admissions Welcome Center in the EMU Student Center located at 900 Oakwood St, Ypsilanti MI 48197.
