Assistant Professor - Orthotics & Prostethics

The School of Health Promotion & Human Performance at Eastern Michigan University invites applications for an Assistant Professor/Program Director position in Orthotics and Prosthetics. Candidate should have the following required qualifications:

  • Three years program director or similar related university administrative experience to generate annual reviews, oversee budget preparation, coordinate faculty teaching schedules, curriculum development, supervise graduate assistant/student academic progress, and overall program evaluation.
  • Advanced degree in Orthotics and Prosthetics or a Doctorate in a related field.
  • Certified Prosthetist and Orthotist through the American Board of Certifications (ABC) for a minimum of 3 years.
  • Membership and participation within the American Academy of Orthotics and Prosthetics or similar professional societies.
  • Ability to teach graduate courses within the O&P program, and serve on various university, college, and/or school committees.
  • A commitment to teaching excellence and an agenda for research and dissemination.
  • Oversee graduate student recruitment, productivity, and requirements per EMU and NCOPE standards.
  • Periodic review and maintenance of the National Commission on Orthotic and Prosthetic Education ( NCOPE) standards for university re-accreditation.
