Dinner with 12 Strangers
The large Eastern Michigan University community can become
even friendlier and actually feel smaller. How? Have some
strangers over for dinner.
Coordinated by the Office for Alumni Relations and SOAR (Student Organization for Alumni Relations, Dinner with 12 Strangers is a fun program designed to help build and strengthen the EMU community through informal gatherings. Local alumni (within a 30-mile radius of campus) serve as dinner hosts for groups of up to 12 previously unacquainted student guests. EMU faculty and staff also participate in the dinners and are a key component in the program's success. Over the course of an enjoyable meal, new connections are made and friendships formed. Dinners can range from a catered affair to a backyard barbeque and typically last a couple of hours.
