Explore Eastern/AART: Explore Eastern is back Saturday, April 5, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the EMU Student Center. The open-house program is a great way for high school students, transfer students and graduate students to learn about EMU and how an EMU education can launch the path to their future. "Real Life" program: Students will tap into real world experience at the "Real Life: Careers in International Business " program, Wednesday, April 9, 4 p.m. at the Gary M. Owen Building, Room 201. A qualified panel of EMU alumni will answer students' questions about what it takes to succeed in careers in International Business. The Office for Alumni Relations is co-sponsoring the event with the Career Services Center and International Student Business Association with the help of the Student Organization for Alumni Relations (SOAR). E-Club - Varsity Letter Winner Jacket Ceremony: The E-Club Board of Directors is hosting a Varsity Letter Jacket Ceremony to congratulate first-year varsity letter winners. The event is Wednesday, April 9, 5 p.m. at Eagles' Nest, the main suite located on the second floor of the Convocation Center. Student-athletes from fall sports (football, men's and women's cross-country, women's soccer and women's volleyball) who earned their first varsity letters are invited to attend. Construction Management Alumni Chapter social: Mix and mingle along with the Construction Management Alumni Chapter Thursday, April 10. The chapter is hosting a gathering from 6-8 p.m. at Frenchie's in Depot Town (56 E. Cross St., Ypsilanti). The social will include the presentation of a check donation to Dr. John A. Alumni Travel Society: The Alumni Travel Society sets out for the magnificent waterways and canals of Holland and Belgium Sunday, April 13. The itinerary charts a scenic inland course from Amsterdam to Antwerp exploring historic, cosmopolitan cities and charming riverine villages along the way. Alumni and friends participating in the spring trip will spend eight nights aboard the MS Switzerland II, a first-class chartered river cruiser complete with modern comforts and impeccable Old World service.

E-Club - Scholar Athlete Awards: The E-Club Alumni Chapter is sponsoring the 15th Annual Scholar Athlete Awards Ceremony Monday, April 14. The event, presented by the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and Student Athlete Support Services, begins at 6 p.m. at the Ypsilanti Marriott at Eagle Crest. COE Hall of Fame: EMU will honor alumni for their work in the field of education at the 8th Annual College of Education Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, Friday, April 18, at the John W. Porter Building. The reception, in the student lounge area, begins at 4 p.m., followed by the induction ceremony at 5 p.m.; both are open to the public. Congratulations to the 2008 inductees: Mary-Dean Barringer ('75), Thomas M. Gwaltney ('79) and Larry Warren ('70, '73). Frederick B. Greek Alumni Chapter reception: EMU celebrates the 2008 Greek Awards Ceremony Friday, April 18. Greek Alumni Chapter members are invited to attend a private reception for alumni, faculty and chapter advisors prior to the event from 6-7:30 p.m. at the EMU Student Center, Room 352. Spring Commencement: Spring Commencement is Sunday, April 27, at the Convocation Center. Alumni Association Board members will be on hand to congratulate our newest alumni and answer questions. Look for the alumni table in the atrium from 8:30-10 a.m. (before the 10 a.m. ceremony) and from 12:30-2 p.m. (before the 2 p.m. ceremony) featuring information about our various programs and services as well as EMU giveaway items.
