Golden Years Reunion: Graduates of EMU’s Class of 1959, and all prior graduates, are cordially invited to attend the Golden Years Reunion Weekend Friday, Oct. 2 – Saturday, Oct 3. 10th Annual Greek Alumni Reunion: In honor of the chapter’s 10th anniversary, this year’s All-Greek Reunion will be two days! Celebrate Homecoming and reunite with fellow Greek alumni on Friday, Oct. 2 and Saturday, Oct. 3. The All-Greek Reunion at Theo-Door's (705 W. Cross St., Ypsilanti) begins Friday at 8 p.m. and Saturday at 2 p.m. Cover is $5 with half the door proceeds benefiting the Greek Alumni Scholarship Fund. EMU Black Alumni Chapter Homecoming Festivities: Join the EMUBA and celebrate Homecoming weekend. Members are invited to a variety of events including the EMU National Pan-Hellenic Council Step Show at 7 p.m. on Friday Oct. 2, at Pease Auditorium, followed by a Step-Show Afterglow at Ypsi-Arbor Lanes, (2985 Washtenaw Rd.). On Saturday, Oct. 3, after the tailgate, football game and after-game concert, there will be an Afterglow beginning at 6 p.m. at the Eagle Crest Golf Course Clubhouse. College of Business, Breakfast with the Dean: COB alumni are invited to attend a continental breakfast from 7:30 – 8 a.m. followed by a presentation by Joe Chzanowski as he talks about “New GM, Road to Success” from 8-9 a.m. Location is the Gary M. Homecoming - Go Green Alumni Tailgate: Celebrate Motown with us Saturday, Oct. 3, and don't miss the big Eagle football action as we cheer on EMU against Temple University. All alumni are invited to the “Go Green!” tailgate from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., west side of Rynearson Stadium. The event includes food, music, cheerleaders, fun activities for children and EMU giveaway items. Proceeds benefit the EMU Alumni Association Scholarship Fund. Central Texas Alumni “Football Watch Party”: Alumni in Central Texas are invited to a “Football Watch Party” on Saturday, Oct. 10 as the EMU Eagles take on the CMU Chippewas. The party will take place at Indigo Joe’s restaurant/sports bar in San Antonio (19239 Stone Oak Parkway). Game time is 11 a.m. (CDT) and alumni and friends from both EMU and CMU are invited. Greek Alumni Chapter Heart Awareness Walk: The Greek Alumni Chapter welcomes your participation at the 5th Annual Heart Awareness Walk, Saturday, Oct. 17, at Big Bob's Lake House, EMU University Park, with a 10:30 a.m. registration and the walk beginning at 11 a.m. The walk benefits the EMU Greek Alumni Chapter Scholarship in memory of Joyce Berg, an inspirational founding chapter member. 19th Annual Teaching Excellence Awards: MEEMIC Insurance Company and the Krumm Agency, LLC proudly join the Alumni Association to pay tribute to the following outstanding EMU faculty being honored at the 19th Annual Teaching Excellence Awards Saturday, Oct. 24: College of Health and Human Services: Shel Levine (health promotion and human performance); College of Education: James E. Barott (education leadership), Karen M. Paciorek (teacher education), Alicia Li (special education); College of Arts and Sciences: Pirooz Aghssa (communication, media and theatre arts), Doris Fields (communication, media and theatre arts), Edward I. Black Alumni Chapter- Young and Successful Program: The Black Alumni Chapter is hosting the fifth installment of its "Young and Successful" student program series Tuesday, Oct. 27, 6-8 p.m., in Best hall. The panelists – EMU alumni who fit the theme: How to be successful before the age of 30 – will share ideas and plans for success in this program for students. Explore Eastern: EMU's Explore Eastern program will take place Saturday, Oct. 31 from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. at the EMU Student Center. The open-house program is a great way for high school students, transfer students and graduate students to learn about EMU and how an EMU education can open the path to their future. New York Metro Alumni Chapter Football Watch Party: Alumni in the NY Metro area are invited to a Football Watch Party on Saturday, Oct. 31 as the EMU Eagles take on the Arkansas Razorbacks.
