Historic Preservation Alumni 'Evening Under the Stars': EMU's Historic Preservation Alumni Chapter hosts its 5th Annual "Evening Under the Stars" Friday, Sept. 5, at Sherzer Observatory. The event begins at 7 p.m. Mingle with new and current students, alumni and friends and stargaze via the large telescope (courtesy of the Astronomy Department). Construction Management Alumni golf outing: Tee off in support of EMU's Construction Management program Wednesday, Sept. 10, at Eagle Crest Golf Course. The Construction Management Alumni Chapter is hosting its 15th Annual Dr. John A. Weeks Golf Outing. Proceeds benefit the Weeks endowment. Play begins with a 9 a.m. shotgun start. Alumni tailgate (EMU vs. Toledo): The Office for Alumni Relations invites you to kick off the 2008 alumni tailgate season with us Saturday, Sept. 13, at Rynearson Stadium. Get fired up with fellow alumni tailgaters and Eagle football fans before EMU battles the Toledo Rockets. The tailgate is from 10 a.m. to noon near the entrance gate on the stadium's west side; game kick-off is scheduled for noon. Washington, D.C. alumni and friends social: Network with fellow graduates in Washington, D.C. EMU's Office for Alumni Relations and National Capital Alumni Chapter are hosting an alumni and friends social, Thursday, Sept. 18. The hors d'oeuvres reception is from 6-8 p.m. at Van Scoyoc Associates ( 101 Constitution Ave., NW). The cost is $10 per person. Alumni tailgate (EMU vs. Maryland): The Office for Alumni Relations will host an alumni tailgate for the EMU vs. University of Maryland game Saturday, Sept. 20, in College Park, Md. Golden Years Reunion: Members of the Eastern Michigan College Class of 1958 are cordially invited to attend the Golden Years Reunion Friday, Sept. 26. The event, always a highlight during Homecoming Week, has become an EMU classic. Wonderful memories will be shared among participants during a daylong series of campus tours and events, beginning with brunch and induction ceremony. Advanced reservations are required. Country Western Homecoming: Grab your ten-gallon hat and mosey on down to EMU Saturday, Sept. 27, for our Country Western-themed Homecoming! Big football action is in store as our Eagles take on the Northern Illinois Huskies; kickoff is scheduled for noon. Enjoy some down-home fun pre-game, 10 a.m. to noon, at the EMU Alumni Toe Tapping Tailgate, presented by W4 Country. Join us in our tent near the entrance gate on the west side of Rynearson Stadium complete with great music, lunch buffet, photo booth, giveaways, caricature portrait artists and Kidzone activities for children. Admission is a donation benefiting the Alumni Association Scholarship Fund. Details will follow regarding the week's many scheduled activities.
