Level Four - Internship/Co-Op
- An EMU student gains practical experience by working in the office of an EMU graduate.
- The length of the internship or co-op, job description and course credit/compensation details may be worked out between the human resources department of the company where the student will be working and EMU's Career Services Center.
How does the program work?
- Students can click here to register for the program.
- After you complete your online registration form, the Career Services Center will send you a letter of welcome and a questionnaire detailing your interests.
- Once we receive your completed questionnaire, we will enter you into our database and give you the names and contact information of up to three alumni who match your career interest. It is up to you to contact the alumni on your list and move forward with establishing an internship or co-op arrangement. The EMU Career Services Center will assist you in filling out the appropriate paperwork through EMU and through the place where you'll be working.
- Along with the names of your alumni matches, we will also send you some tips for interacting with alumni through this program and using Alumni Career Connection to your full advantage.
- If there isn't a graduate in the database who matches your career interest and is willing to arrange an internship/co-op experience at this time, we will notify you of this and will contact you as soon as we are able to make a match.
If you have any questions about the Alumni Career Connections, please contact us via e-mail or call the Career Services Center at 734.487.4272.
