Stacey Nicole Chamberlin ’01 earned her bachelor of science degree from Eastern Michigan, majoring in political science, and has quickly become a Washington DC insider, with key, bipartisan connections in government and a broad understanding of how things work inside the Beltway.

She followed her EMU experience by earning a master’s political management from George Washington University in 2002.

In 2004, she held the position of project manager in the American Conservative Union in Washington D.C. Currently, she is the Vice President of the DC1 Group in Washington D.C. The DCI Group provides communications and advocacy services to various clients, including large U.S. corporations, trade associations, non-profit organizations and government organizations, including educational institutions.

Over the years, Stacey has risen through the ranks as a key player and doer in the world of DC politics. From 2002-2004, she planned and executed the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), which is annually hosted by the ACU. In this role, she fundraised for events, handled financial obligations, managed more than 200 speakers and more than 60 staff and volunteers.

In 2009, she organized the Stafford Foundation Inaugural Ball in Reston, VA. She helped plan the event, designed to be “for the people,” in underserved communities. She took in press and attendees, and helped to arrange donations, invitations, and transportation.

In 2010, Stacey’s aggressive efforts in terms of independent expenditures helped lead the U.S. House to a Republican majority in 2010. In 2015, she became a member of the National Taxpayers Union (NTU), which is one of the largest leading taxpayer advocate organizations in the country.

Stacey is a volunteer for The Falls Church Anglican Church in Virginia, a member of the American Diabetes Association, and a mentor at Daybreak Ministry in D.C. She also organized several groups and trips to New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina in 2005.

She continues contributing to EMU, annually participating in professor Jeffrey Bernstein’s week-long travel course to Washington D.C. by providing relevant and interesting speakers for the students. Stacey also remains a vital contact about entry level jobs for students looking to begin a career in Washington.
