On Saturday June 4th the Alumni Association Board of Directors participated in a community service project at Food Gathers (FG) in Ann Arbor. Eleven EMU representatives consisting of nine board members and two of their children participated.
Food Gathers provides many services to the community. Their primary function is to provide food for the Emergency Food Assistance Program for Washtenaw County. The EMU Alumni Board's project consisted of packing boxes of food for this program. In approximately 2.5 hours, they packaged 420 boxes of food. "I'm very proud that we have a team that can come together and participate in such a worthy cause," said Jerome Rush, chair of the public relations committee.
The Alumni Board plans to continue their partnership in volunteering with Food Gathers for future endeavors.
