Option Two: Contact a Prospect
Got a few minutes to give back to your alma mater? It doesn't take long to make a personal connection with prospective students from your area, but it could be just what it takes to convince a student to attend EMU.
What would I be asked to do? |
Send a note (preferably on your company letterhead) to students from your area who have expressed an interest in EMU. You can tell us the number of students you'd like to contact and how often you'd like to receive names. |
Call students as a follow-up to the note to see if they have any questions. If you are willing to make more of a time commitment, offer to meet the student and his or her parents for coffee or dessert to talk about EMU in person. |
Encourage qualified students to apply for scholarships, which might make EMU more appealing because it will make it more affordable. |
Commit to the program for a minimum of one year. |
What would I get from this? |
| A training kit with sample notes, information and "talking points" about EMU and its scholastic and extracurricular programs. | |
| Regular e-mails from us full of information about what's up at EMU and useful items to use in communicating with prospective students. | |
