Option One: Identify a Hot Prospect

Do you know an outstanding high school student in your area who would be an asset to the EMU student body? Maybe your child's babysitter has good grades. Maybe the kid who shovels your sidewalk seems to be involved in a lot of extracurricular activities. Maybe your best friend's son or daughter just won a local science fair competition. We want you to tell us about these outstanding students in your community!

What would I be asked to do?

Contact us about a 'hot prospect' in your community whom you think would be a great EMU student because of his or her grades or extracurricular involvement (We ask that hot prospects have at least a 3.0 GPA.). We will follow up with the student and make sure he or she receives the VIP treatment so that EMU becomes an irresistible college choice!

You can alert us to a hot prospect in three different ways:
1. Click here to submit an electronic form.
2. Call us at 800-GO-TO-EMU and tell us you'd like to recommend a hot prospect.
3. E-mail us at hotprospect@emich.edu.
We would also encourage you to follow up with your hot prospect to let him or her know that you thought they were special enough to receive VIP treatment from us and see if he or she has any questions about EMU. This could be as simple as a quick note, e-mail, or phone call, or could include meeting the student and his or her parents for coffee or dessert.

What would I get from this?
We'll keep you informed about the student's status-- whether he applied, whether she was admitted, etc.
