Dr. Bradley E. Ensor

Dr. Bradley E. Ensor (Ph.D., University of Florida, 2003; Assistant Professor) is an archaeologist, ethnohistorian, and dental anthropologist. His theoretical interests include political economy, kinship, social organization, and social transformations. His regions of specialization are Mesoamerica, the U.S. Southwest, and other regions in North America. He is currently conducting archaeological investigations in Mexico and southeast Michigan, ethnohistoric research on Native American kinship, and research on public media images of modern slavery. Recent publications include “Islas de Los Cerros: A Coastal Site Complex Near Comalcalco, Tabasco, Mexico” in Mexicon (2003); “Social Formations, Modo de Vida, and Conflict in Archaeology” in American Antiquity (2000); “Kinship and Marriage Among the Omaha, 1886-1902" in Ethnology (2003); Disproportionate Clan Growth in Crow-Omaha Societies: A Kinship-Demographic Model for Explaining Settlement Hierarchies and Fissioning in the Prehistoric U.S. Southeast” in North American Archaeologist (2002); and “Hohokam Political Ecology and Vulnerability: Comments on Waters and Ravesloot” with Marisa O. Ensor and Gregory W. DeVries in American Antiquity (2003).
