Artist Statement:

In my research I address selected issues from current research in the cognitive sciences that are directly related to art educational theory and practice.  I focus on the role of emotion and of visual perception and how these two intersect and play a key role in how we come to make sense of our world.  I propose that recent research in the cognitive sciences focusing on emotion, perception and  the creation and experiencing of art (Neuroaesthetics) offers validation and support for current art educational theory and practice using a constructivist approach.
