Exposure to a wide range of exhibits and lectures is an important part of an art education, as well as a way to successfully engage the larger public. To this end, the Art Department offers multiple venues for exhibits and lectures.
The Ford Gallery, located in Ford Hall, maintains a year-round schedule of exhibitions and artist lectures. It serves as a venue for the work of outside artists, graduate thesis exhibitions, as well as an annual undergraduate juried exhibition and an annual graduate exhibition. For more information on the Ford Gallery exhibition and lecture schedule, please visit the Ford Gallery website.
The Intermedia Gallery, located in McKinney Union, is a student-run gallery showcasing primarily undergraduate work. It provides excellent oppurtunitites for students to experience firsthand the endeavors involved both in exhibiting their own work and managing a gallery space.
In addition, the new Student Center, scheduled for completion in Fall 2006, will house two new gallery spaces, the University Gallery, which will feature major exhibitions and events, and a second gallery which is designated for use by EMU student groups.
