Artist Statement:

Although I have been teaching since 1964 I still find my students and their work to be interesting. There is a different chemistry to each class. Although I have taught drawing and painting many times, no two classes have ever been the same. Some assignments may work with one group and not with another. I try to be both flexible and open to the great variations of a particular group.

After all these years I still maintain the following viewpoint: When the student is there, the teacher appears . The balance of the student skill and personality with my own is a delicate mix. When it is right it is a beautiful exchange resulting in creativity.
