Community Agencies

The Office of Academic Service-Learning works with several community nonprofit organizations. Professors utilizing academic service-learning as a teaching methodology have placed students in the following agencies. You are welcome to contact this partial list of non-profits to learn more about how they work with students and professors.

826 Michigan An outgrowth of 826 Valencia, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting
students aged 6 to 18 with creative and expository writing skills
Alzheimer's Association, Michigan Great Lakes Chapter  
American Red Cross Disaster Relief, military and community social services, health and safety education, and blood services.
Center for Single Parents Services for single parents and their families, such as further education, job training, basic health information, parenting assistance, and grass roots support networks.
