Gian Mario Besana
Gian Mario Besana has left the university. He taught several introductory and upper level courses in the Mathematics Department. The implementation of a problem-based learning approach in his college geometry course was the focus of his teaching efforts. He implemented an academic service-learning component into Math 110, a basic studies course.
Philip Cardon
Philip Cardon specializes in technology education coursework and teaches TEDU 106 Processing Technology, TEDU 253 Technology Education for Children, TEDU 350 Curriculum in Technology and Industrial-Vocational Education, TEDU 450 Problem Solving in Technology and Industrial-Vocational Education, and TEDU 460 Teaching Methods in Technology and Industrial-Vocational Education. He also teaches various graduate courses for the Department of Business and Technology Education.
Phil incorporated academic service-learning in the TEDU 350 class during the Fall 2000 and Winter 2001 semesters. Students had to complete at least 20 hours of service with a school of their choice. Their assignment was to help the teacher(s) to improve their classroom laboratory and curriculum. Their activities were reported in class and in written assignments.

Lolita Hendrix
Lolita Hendrix, Eastern Michigan University Associate Professor of public relations, teaches various public relations and English courses to undergraduate students. She feels strongly about the benefits of academic service-learning and uses it in her Public Relations Case Studies course by requiring students to create detailed public relations programs for area nonprofit organizations.

Robert Kiss
Robert Kiss is an Associate Professor in the Department of Finance and Computer Information Systems.
Kiss incorporated academic service-learning into his course FIN 354 Investments, Groups of students worked with several groups and organizations on various investment related issues. These groups included the following:
- Denby Technical High School (Detroit)
- Phi Sigma Pi
- EMU Finance Club
- Washtenaw Community College Foundation
- EMU Women's Swim Team
- EMU Foundation
- Mom's Club of Novi & Northville
- Ann Arbor Jewish Family Center
Assignments ranged from a review of Investment Policy Statements to a discussion of different Investment vehicles and investing strategies.

Mohsen Sharifi
Mohsen Sharifi is a Professor of Accounting in Eastern Michigan University’s College of Business. He teaches Accounting Information Systems and Managerial Accounting Courses. He has used academic service-learning in ACC 456, his Accounting Systems Implementation and Projects course, for more than ten years. Some agencies he worked with in that time were the SOS Center of Ypsilanti, EMU Grant Accounting, City of Southfield Park Department, and many more. Further, he integrates academic service-learning in other courses that he teaches.

Louis Thayer
Louis Thayer is a Professor in the Department of Leadership and Counseling. His special teaching, learning, and research interestes foculs on person-centered theory and practice for counseling/therapy, education, and leadership. He seeks to develop unique ways of integrating experience-based and humanistic approaches into counseling/learning environments. Thayer plans to incorporate academic service-learning into his course GDCN 505 Counselor Development: Basic Skills.

Norman Tyler
Norman Tyler is a Professor in the Department of Geography and Geology. Tyler used academic service-learning in his Geography course GHPR 557, Community Development and Downtown Revitalizaton. The students worked with with a community board in Albion, Michigan, in the planning for a childrens museum in a vacant store in the city's downtown. Students discussed various topics via Web Caucus, including separate surveys of residents, other downtown leaders and school children. Students also made trips to the city and developed a plan for the building.
Tyler has written many publications and done many presentations in his career. Among the many publications are the two listed below.
Tyler is also affiliated with the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) and is a registered architect.
