IMPORTANT NOTE: The Biology Department has renumbered all of its courses so that all courses will have a BIO or BIOT prefix.The new course numbers are listed in the 2009-2011 course catalog but will not appear in the course schedule until winter 2010. Courses with a BIOT prefix will not count toward a biology major or minor. The list below reflects both the new and the old course numbers. Please contact the department (mlaporte@emich.edu) if you have questions about these changes.

Below is the planned schedule of undergraduate course offerings for the next four years. This schedule is subject to change based on instructor availability, but is an accurate representation of anticipated course offerings for our undergraduate programs. When we are unable to offer a specific course, we will attempt to provide a suitable alternative. Please contact the department (mlaporte@emich.edu) if you have questions about these offerings. See the EMU course catalog for more information about each course.

Courses marked FL will be offered at our Fish Lake Field Station. See the Fish Lake website for a full listing of spring-summer 2009 courses. We will be offering a variety of special topics courses, including the Biology of Arachnids, which is an upper-level elective for biology majors, as well as several courses intended for in-service teachers.
