Biography:
Research Interests - I am broadly interested in how the biotic and abiotic environments shape the ecology and evolution of fish populations. Approaches to my research include whole-stream manipulations, field observations by radiotelemetry, behavioral experiments in the laboratory and microscopic examination of fish anatomy. In recent years, I have focused on the study of invasive fish species and their management in the Great Lakes Region. I have had students work on the behavior of Eurasian ruffe and bighead carp and I have research projects on the behavior of sea lamprey. In a recent study, I used high-speed video recordings to analyze the biomechanics of Pacific lamprey climbing behavior.
