Meta Hellwig Graduate Research Awards

A $4,000 award in support of graduate research in association with a Biology Department faculty member. Awards are offered on the basis of research merit.

Eligibility: Student must be a full-time, degree-seeking candidate in a Plan A (thesis) program within the Biology Department.

Deadline: Feb. 15 prior to the year of the award. Applications are available in the Biology Office.

Selection Criteria: Application for these awards requires submission of a full research proposal and letters of support. The proposal should include:
  1. description and significance of the project
  2. methods and materials
  3. timeline for the project

The proposal will be judged on both its quality and feasibility of accomplishing its stated goals during the award period. Along with completed application, a letter of support from the sponsoring faculty member and one other letter of recommendation is required. Additional letters and other supporting documentation are encouraged.
