Graduate Programs:
Cell and Molecular Biology

Designed for those pursuing a research, medical, or administrative career in the life sciences, this option provides advanced study in cell and developmental biology, genetics, microbiology, immunology, and research techniques. Successful graduates go on to PhD or MD/DO/DVM programs or are employed in private/public sector research. Students are given opportunities to perform original research with faculty mentors.

Program Details

Teaching and research facilities:

  • Automated DNA sequencing core
  • Tissue culture facilities
  • Micro-injection
  • Electron microscopy
  • Molecular biology support (PCR, electroporation, etc.)

Admission Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree
  • Preliminary coursework in general biology (including physiology & genetics), chemistry (general, organic, and biochemistry), physics, and calculus
  • GRE general exam
