General Biology

This program is designed to have the maximum flexibility needed for those building credentials for Ph.D. or professional programs and those planning for their life science careers. Students’ needs are met through a tailored program of study representing a blend of courses from the above programs.

Program Details

Teaching and research facilities for this program include all those listed under the Cell and Molecular Biology Program and the Ecosystems Biology Program.

Admission Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree
  • Preliminary coursework in genetics, physiology, botany, zoology, chemistry (two semesters of general chemistry, one semester of organic chemistry plus a second semester of organic chemistry or a semester of biochemistry), physics (two semesters), and calculus or statistics
  • GRE general exam
