Tutoring, Academic Support and Getting Ahead

The best students know that having a tutor or study group is a great way to get ahead. EMU has remarkable resources available for you.

  • Memorize your Student ID Number and your Social Security Number. You will need one or the other every time you do anything “official” at EMU—even checking out a library book.

Holman Learning Center

  • The Holman Learning Center offers support services for students.

  • Free one-on-one tutoring provided for most 100-200 undergraduate level courses. Tutors available to help students stay ahead and succeed in college classes

Supplemental Instructors

  • A GREAT opportunity for EMU students; Supplemental Instructors (SI) received an A when they took the class. They act as “study group” coordinators and help review materials. It’s announced if your class offers an SI, not all do.

The Writing Center

  • The Writing Center is a free resource for all EMU students. Tutors offer help with class papers, and their assistance includes brainstorming, revising, and all of the in between.
