Fusion: New Transfer Student Orientation

Students at EMU Fusion Orientation

Welcome to our newly admitted transfer students!

We are glad that you have chosen EMU as the next part of your collegiate journey. Your transition into this community is important to us and we want to make it as smooth as possible to ensure your academic success.

The next step in your transition process is attending Fusion: New Transfer Student Orientation. During Fusion, you can complete all of the "business" of becoming a new student at EMU so you can start your first semester worry free. At the same time, meet fellow transfer students, familiarize yourself with our campus resources, and learn about all the tools we offer to ensure your engagement and academic success.

Your new student fee includes this important Orientation program, so we encourage you to take advantage of all it has to offer! For student starting in the winter, we offer two different Orientation options.

Option 1: Transfer Orientation is a concise but comprehensive orientation program designed to give you hands-on experience navigating the my.emich portal. This will allow you to check your grades, view your financial aid, pay your bill, and view class schedules for upcoming semesters. You will also learn about academic resources to help you succeed in class. This orientation option runs for two hours, and is offered on multiple days for your convenience.  While on campus, you can get your EagleOne card, visit the Student Center bookstore, or stop by other departments and offices on campus. All sessions will be held in Halle Library.

Summer I 2012 Transfer Orientation dates coming soon.

**If you have not yet registered for classes and would like to attend this program, please contact the University Advising and Career Development Center at 734.487.2171 to schedule your advising/registration appointment.**

What to do before you attend Fusion

1. Meet with an advisor and register for classes! Call the University Advising and Career Development Center  at 734.487.2171 to schedule an advising/registration appointment.

2. If you attended a community college, please check with your community college counselor to see if you have satisfied MACRAO. If you have satisfied MACRAO, please make sure this is noted on your transcript.

3. If you have been following an articulation agreement, please make sure you bring a copy with you to your advising appointment and/or be sure you let the advisor know you have been following one.

4. Make sure your most recent transcripts have been sent to EMU. If you have credits that you are hoping will transfer, having the most up-to-date transcripts will make this process easier.

5. We strongly encourage you to visit the following website: https://it.emich.edu/service/myemich/index.cfm and set-up your my.emich account before attending orientation. This will enable you to fully participate in sessions during your visit.
