Department of World Languages
Professor DaQing Wang
comes to the TESOL section of the Department of World Languages from Northeastern University in Shenyang Province, China through funding from the
Chinese State Scholarship and the CAS Dean’s PDI. He is the second visiting scholar from this university, following Professor Han who conducted
research in EFL methodology and taught Chinese in the Department. Professor Wang is also interested in teaching English to speakers of other languages,
specifically multimedia-assisted English teaching and the roles teachers and technology play in the teaching of English.
Professor Wang has published several textbooks and important papers on this subject and has won several awards honoring contributions he has made during 14 years teaching at Northeastern University. He also has significant experience teaching Chinese as a foreign language to students from the US, Japan, Korea, and Africa. He enjoys including the art of calligraphy and traditional Chinese painting in his classes. He looks forward to his research, teaching, and art here at EMU.

Professor Kee Yung Yang
from Sookmyung University in Seoul, Korea, has established herself as an international soprano. Teaching at Sookmyung University since 1996,
Professor Yang has performed throughout Russia, Eastern Europe, Italy, and South Korea.
She was the winner of the Nostro Vicenzo International Singing Competition, the Varese Viotti International singing Competition, the Nostro Vincenzo Concorsco and the Varese Viotti Concorso in Italy, and the Pushikin Artist Prize, the Pushikin International Festiva, the Volsky Award and the Tatarstan Award in Russia. In addition to her formal education at Sookmyung University, Professor Yang spent 3 years in the mid-1990s in Milano, Italy at the Conservatorio di Musica "Giuseppe Verdi" and the Civica State Academy.
It is not a surprise that Professor Yang has been a guest soloist at too many performances to mention here. Suffice it to say she has sung with the Philharmonic Orchestras in Russia, Czech Republic, Poland, Ukraine, South Korea, Romania, Italy, Bulgaria, and Austria. "La Traviata" and "Die Zauberfloete" are the two most popular operatic performances she has sung around the world.
