Great Lakes Academy which opened its doors in 1997 serves approximately
290 students in grades K-6. This school is committed to improving
pupil achievement by developing academic, intellectual and social
skills through a comprehensive program which allows for individualization
while promoting curiosity and creativity.
Students who have spent at least three years at Great
Lakes Academy show steady improvements on the state’s
Michigan Education Assessment Program (MEAP). For those
students requiring extra attention, Great Lakes Academy
provides an extended-day tutorial program and summer
classes where the teacher-to-student ratio is 1 to
5 so that each child can experience academic improvement
and a feeling of personal growth.
In addition to focus, Great Lakes Academy offers the

and computer technology;

- Athletic programs in boys and girls basketball,
cheerleading, and golf.
